Welcome to the American Institute of Homeopathy

A Message from AIH President Irene Sebastian, MD, PhD, DHt

Those of us who are “medical homeopaths” inhabit two worlds.  On one hand, we are licensed physicians-dentists-nurse practitioners-physician’s assistants, with all the education, training and responsibilities that are associated with our respective licenses.  On the other hand, we share the practice of homeopathic medicine with a diverse group of complementary-and-alternative medicine practitioners.  The American Institute of Homeopathy is the only organization that integrates these two worlds for those of us who are medical homeopaths.  Whether you have the perspective of Classical Homeopathy, Clinical Homeopathy, Pure Homeopathy, Predictive Homeopathy, the Sensation Method, etc., we welcome your perspective and invite you to join our community.

For me, AIH is my professional home -- it is the one place where all that I bring to the practice of medicine is fully understood.  What I have enjoyed the most about being a member of AIH is simply the collegiality that I have developed with many members of this association.  Our online community as well as our annual conferences contribute to this sense of collegiality.  Come to our upcoming seminar in New Orleans, March 7-9, 2014, and you will have the opportunity to share that experience as well as learn from two homeopathic masters, Drs. Prafull and Ambrish Vijayakar.  The “Predictive Homeopathy” approach of Dr. Prafull Vijayakar is becoming increasingly appreciated in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and AIH is honored to introduce Dr. Vijayakar to the community of homeopaths in the U.S.  See Events for further information about this seminar.

AIH has been the voice of the homeopathic medical profession since 1844.  One of the ways in which our history is preserved is through our quarterly journal,  American Journal of Homeopathic Medicine.  A subscription to our journal (both print and electronic) is a benefit of  AIH membership, and we hope that you will read and contribute to our journal.

AIH also speaks for the homeopathic medical profession through our work with the Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium (IHPC).  Through our association with IHPC, we have been invited to be a member of the Community of Learning of the IMPriME program, whose purpose is to integrate CAM modalities into twelve Preventive Medicine residency programs.

We hope that you will join us as we promote the medical specialty of homeopathic medicine.  We believe that your membership will enhance our community as well as your professional life.

Please contact me directly at sebastian.irene@gmail.com if you have any questions about membership.

Warm regards,

Irene Sebastian, MD, PhD, DHt
