About the Conference

This course provided training in the composition and application of the primary source tools in homœopathy; the materia medica of Hahnemann and repertory (specifically Bönninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocketbook) and included practical case exercises to enhance your learning experience. You will be able to immediately apply the tools and skills gained from this active, hands-on learning conference in your practice for greatly improved clinical outcomes.

We are excited to announce that Sonoran University has received a grant to host a new digital online library of homœopathic and historical medical literature, which was unveiled during this groundbreaking conference. This library contains access to approximately 90% of Hahnemann’s citations in the form of old-school toxicological reports. Instruction is given on how to utilize this amazing tool to search the library and access this vital literature. In studying these historical reports, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the construction of Hahnemann’s materia medica and, by extension, our profession’s original repertory, specifically, Bönninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocketbook. Instructive, real-life case histories will be included to reinforce these concepts.

Over and above an understanding of the processes in health and disease, a precise homœopathic prescription requires an accurate knowledge of substance effects and a sound familiarity with the tools available to facilitate their recollection in the clinical setting.

Study of our Pharmacography – The conference offered insight into the development of Hahnemann’s methodical approach to the acquisition of knowledge of substance effects (substance trials, provings) and how he married these with existing toxicological reports selectively recruited from the old (allopathic) school, resulting in an unmatched ‘synergy’ of speculation-free, determinate substance effects, culminating in the publishing of his materia medicae.

Study of our Repertography – We also examined the tools developed to facilitate our application of omoion (similars), with a brief history leading up to the development of the most compact and accurate repertory, Bönninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocketbook, being the repertorial work most closely reflecting Hahnemann’s teachingsThe series of lectures included case exercises and examples demonstrating the use of Bönninghausen’s repertorial method.

This unified and cohesive course prospectus was taught by a team of expert teachers, who have all been highly trained after the methodology of Hahnemann and Bönninghausen, including a homœopathic veterinarian for our vet attendees.

Overall Conference Rating and Comments

4.41/5.0

  • Maybe we should do it again this time in Australia?
  • Nice job. Kudos. Let’s keep the inter-agency dialogue and cooperation going between these organizations. Lets bring more and more of these members into the same venue so that they can rub elbows and share cases. We all learn from each other.
  • It was amazing! Thank you so much for hosting it! I would definitely be interested in more conferences/workshops like this in the future.
  •  I think it was great! Thank you for the hard work you put into this. I was hoping for a bit more from the activity section. I’m still left with many questions will touch base about when I review my notes to ensure I didn’t miss something.
  • Wonderful conference. Extremely high quality. Hopefully we can do it again sometime!
  • I think as a community we need to stay more open-minded to foster inclusivity. If we keep saying we need to standardize things but actually mean we want things done our way or the highway, we will only create more division.
  • Such a beautiful school, making it a beautiful venue.
  • We need one every year ! I love the collaboration, we are stronger for bringing all modalities in as it were-from naturopaths, nurses, and veterinarians, all with homeopath training. It is very affirming to consolidate our commitment to the art and science of Hahnemann’s teachings on Homoeopathy.
  • Absolutely an amazing vision for this conference and YOU PULLED IT OFF WONDERFULLY!!!!
  • I hope you do it again.
  • I’m hoping future conferences can get into more advanced topics.
  • I really liked the interactive portion of the conference. I wish there maybe was an overview on how TBR2 works and why they made it the way they did for people who haven’t used it before. Breaks every hour for the long presentations would have been nice for in person. I also think more complex/chronic case examples and why symptoms were chosen to get to the remedy would be nice too. I really enjoyed all the history and the amazing work these speakers have done to get all of that info.
  • Other than George’s very inappropriate display of misogyny and IT difficulties it was a good conference.
  • Thank you to all those involved! I am Grateful and look forward to more conferences like this.
  • Please shorten the presentations for next time. There is research showing that 60 minutes is optimal and most people get restless and start to tune out after 90 minutes, so that should be the max for any presentation.
  • I thought the conference was really well done. I would love for there to be more case examples and opportunities to “play” with the repertory in a small group setting throughout the conference. I would recommend that in the future, day 1 be optional and a recap of the foundational information for folks who either have never attended the conference before, or simply are wanting a refresher. And then days 2-3 can be new information (case reports, more advanced concepts, workshops using the repertory, history and philosophy talks) for those of us who have already taken the HANP Core Curriculum and/or have previously attended the conference. I would also recommend that more breaks and longer breaks be built into the schedule so that there’s greater opportunities to connect with fellow attendees. If high quality meals were provided on-site each day, that would also allow attendees to socialize during the longer lunch break rather than rushing off site to get food they’re interested in eating.
  • Congratulations!
