Klaus Henning Gypser
(27 Feb. 1955 – 4 Sept. 2024)
With great sorrow, we announce the death of Master Dr. Klaus Henning Gypser on September 4th, 2024, at his home of Glees, Germany, surrounded by his beloved wife Heike and his family.
His initial exposure to homeopathy was in his childhood—his family physician was a homeopathic medical doctor. From him, he was supplied with books on medicine and made the decision to become a homeopathic physician at the age of 16. While studying medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Aachen, Germany, he had the opportunity during vacation to become educated by three homeopathic physicians of high repute:
- The late Jost Künzli, M.D. (1915-1992), of St. Gallen, Switzerland, who allowed him to attend his practice and to see patients;
- The late Will Klunker, M.D. (1923-2002), of Heiden, Switzerland, who worked out the cases of his daily practice with him and demonstrated how to arrive methodologically at the proper remedy; he further taught him the fundamentals of homeopathy extensively and introduced him to its philosophy;
- The late Georg von Keller, M.D. (1919-2003), of Tuebingen, Germany, who opened up for him the wide field of old homeopathic literature, as well as of homeopathic Materia Medica.
Dr. Klaus-Henning Gypser started his pure homeopathic private clinic at Glees, Germany, in 1986. He was a tireless researcher of everything that could increase the knowledge of the most reliable classical authors of Homeopathy. He collected a huge library of old homeopathic books, more than 4.000 volumes.
He also left a huge cultural legacy to the homeopathic fraternity, with hundreds of publications of excellent quality and, with great generosity, he spread the results of his studies around the world, giving seminars and teachings focused mainly on the work of the founders of Homeopathy—Hahnemann, Boenninghausen, and the Masters of the American Golden age.
He was always ready to explain and give advice about topics of our wonderful Medicine, and each one of us approaching him with a question went back enriched with “pieces of Gold.”
I was personally honored to be his friend; we met not so many years ago, but, sharing the same ideas about our Medicine, we started a continuous exchange of information, opinions and scientific material. We had the opportunity to visit each other’s respective places of residence, with meetings of both families, and it was interesting to enter in contact with a different Henning from the one of the “official” meetings. He was in private life a special person, very kind, always looking for the best way to make you feel at ease, and, behind his “serious and austere” look, he was often ready to show his wonderful sense of humor.
After having written more than 200 publications, he had been recently writing his last “treasure” for all of us, a marvelous book on Characteristics, based mainly on his project, Materia Medica Revisa Homeopathiae, with a Repertory of characteristics to be used at the patient’s bedside. Alas! There was not enough time to complete it. A great loss.
Thank you, dear Henning! I will never forget the precious time spent together, talking hours and hours about our Medicine. The whole Homeopathic fraternity will miss you a lot. Rest in Peace my dear Friend.
