Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am writing to share my deep gratitude and enthusiasm following our incredibly successful International Research Conference,“Homeopathy: Groundbreaking Science and Global Health,” held from October 17-19, 2025. This event truly marks a pivotal moment for the American Institute of Homeopathy.
Conference Success, Highlights, and Gratitude
Our conference successfully demonstrated the strength and scientific rigor of our field, featuring an excellent combination of in-person and virtual speakers presenting the latest clinical, pre-clinical, and basic science research.
Scientific Highlights from the Weekend: The diversity and quality of our presenters were exceptional. Rachel Roberts (HRI) provided a crucial overview of the Evolving Evidence, asserting that high-quality data is inconsistent with the placebo theory and that the level of evidence is comparable to many conventional treatments. We received key updates on global health challenges, including Dr. Esther van der Werf’s compelling presentation on the potential role of homeopathy in addressing the serious threat of Antimicrobial Resistance.
From the clinical side, Dr. Ronald D. Whitmont contrasted conventional and homeopathic treatment paradigms for Acute Pain and Injury, demonstrating how homeopathy works within an Ecosystems Science framework to promote resolution and recovery. Finally, Dr. Menachem Oberbaum shared significant results from the Indo-Israel pragmatic Randomized Controlled Trial on Homeopathy vs. Conventional Primary Care in Children under two, showcasing the positive impact of our medicine in pediatric health.
We also celebrated vital research aimed at modernizing our data collection and practice. Denise Straiges and Dr. Alastair Gray presented crucial work from the Institute for the Advancement of Homeopathy, addressing the gaps in current research by focusing on real-world, chronic case analyses, including the impact of homeopathy on autoimmune disease, and studying the impact and use of Artificial Intelligence in homeopathic practice.
There were so many other great speakers that made this conference truly extraordinary. If you missed any part of the event, you can visit our website to purchase the conference videos and catch up on the groundbreaking science you missed. Furthermore, we hope to have a full written proceeding published within the next six months.
A special and profound thank you goes to our host institution, UCONN Health, which provided a world-class setting for our proceedings. We extend our warmest appreciation to Dr. Cato Laurencin and Dr. Lakshmi Nair for their instrumental support, leadership, and vision in making this academic collaboration possible. Their commitment sends a powerful message: homeopathic research belongs in academic medical centers, homeopathy can withstand scientific scrutiny, and our results merit serious investigation.
The hybrid format allowed for truly global participation. We welcomed a total of 409 attendees, including 127 who joined us in person and 282 who attended virtually from 23 countries around the world. This level of engagement underscores the global thirst for evidence-based research in homeopathy.
Small Membership, Mighty Impact: Securing Our Future
We had 26 AIH members in attendance at the conference, which is roughly one-third of our total membership of approximately 76 individuals. While we are a small professional organization, the AIH is more financially sound than it has been in well over a decade. Our ability to host a world-class conference like this, attracting hundreds of participants and top-tier researchers from around the globe, demonstrates the strength and effectiveness of our core organization and its mission. Your continued dedication ensures our foundation remains solid as we look to the future.
Member Meeting Recap and Bylaws Progress
We also successfully held our first in-person member meeting in many years, with 16 dedicated members in attendance. During this crucial session, we discussed the need for Governance Modernization within our organization. This includes key updates to our Bylaws designed to increase Board Accountability and streamline our Operations (such as allowing for electronic voting and digital signatures).
Crucially, these pending Bylaws changes include an exciting update to expand AIH membership to all licensed doctoral level healthcare providers who have integrated homeopathy into their practice. This initiative paves the way for a more inclusive and larger professional body moving forward. We will continue to keep you informed as the voting process for these essential updates progresses.
I was also honored to announce a special recognition: we awarded Jay Yasgur an Honorary Membership. This designation acknowledges his decades of tireless contribution to the AIH, the AJHM, and the homeopathic community at large.
A Call to Action
The conference has ended, but our work has just begun. The insights gained from our speakers—ranging from the role of homeopathy in addressing Antimicrobial Resistance to groundbreaking research in acute care—give us the momentum to push forward. This conference has raised the bar for excellence.
I close this letter with the following challenge, which I hope you will all take to heart:
- Continue to support continued education and maintain the highest standards of our profession. This is vital in particular as our membership expands.
- Commit to high-quality research that raises the bar for excellence and advances our field.
- Engage actively in the American Institute of Homeopathy. We need you! There are so many ways you can be involved.
- Participate in the preservation of our Materia Medica, the medicine that makes us great.
- Stand proud as you represent this great medicine.
As you go about your day-to-day tasks, be it community work, clinics or teaching positions, go forward with confidence in the validity of what we practice and with commitment to the highest standards of research and clinical care. This tradition has endured at the American Institute of Homeopathy for over 180 years and will endure for centuries more, not by chance, but because it is built on truth, validated by observation, and proven by results.
Thank you for raising the bar with us and for carrying homeopathy forward into a future where its full potential can be realized for the benefit of patients worldwide.
Sincerely,
Dr. Lisa Amerine, President
American Institute of Homeopathy
